Updates for Thursday 28th Jan 2010

Announcements:

Physics: Please finish up the plan as instructed by Ms Goh as we will be carrying out the experiment next Thursday (4th Feb) during our SPA lesson.

Sources of Error for Physics SPA experiment B7: (Any 2)

• When transferring the liquid, heat is lost in the process thus affecting the reading of the thermometer
• Due to the difference in surface areas, the rate at which heat is lost to the atmosphere is different, affecting the reading of the thermometer
• Temperature of the liquid may not be uniform, rendering the reading of the thermometer inaccurate- To rectify this problem, stirrer is used such that temperature of liquid is uniform
• Heat energy may be lost due to conduction with stirrer, resulting in inaccurate readings

Reminders for ALL 4F STUDENTS:

Geography Elective: Please be reminded AGAIN that there will be another Geog test on Rivers and Coasts next Friday (5th Feb). Study hard!!!

A Maths: There will be a Base Test on 3rd Feb (Wednesday) on Chapters 11, 12 and 13 (whole of Trigo).

Chemistry: Finish the practice worksheet given on Tuesday. (Not sure if need to hand up)

Reminders for 4F EXPRESS CHINESE STUDENTS:

There will be a Chinese base test on the 18th Feb (Thursday) from 3.30 PM onwards. More details on Mr Chew’s blog.

Please be reminded to finish up the compositions given out today and Tuesday and hand in LATEST by tomorrow. Failure to do so will result in staying back after school to complete it under the supervision of Mr Chew.
